Jumio Expands True Reusable Identity to APAC with selfie.DONE™, Powered by Global Identity Graph

Jumio

Jumio has officially launched its innovative reusable identity platform, selfie.DONE, across the Asia-Pacific territory. It can thus be termed an important landmark in the global expansion strategy of Jumio.

Jumio has also launched a selfie process. This has been developed as a replacement for the cumbersome traditional onboarding systems that require extensive document scanning. The process allows one to identify oneself through facial scanning of a simple selfie. Besides, the process offers a fast track for verified users.

Asia-Pacific Strategic Impact Onboarding

Thus, companies that utilize Jumio technology can minimize user friction while still achieving stringent regulatory compliance. Early rollouts are also showing impressive results for digital platforms. And indeed, Jumio helps deliver a 20 percent increase in completed verification requests. Also, as many as 60 percent of returning users verify without uploading physical documents.

Unlike closed identity networks, Jumio relies on a dynamic global identity graph. Currently, this connected system holds over 75 million legitimate and fraudulent identity profiles.

Furthermore, Jumio adds approximately 85,000 new identity records to this secure database every single day. As a result, financial institutions, crypto platforms, and sharing-economy apps in APAC can instantly recognize trusted customers.

“The launch of selfie.DONE in APAC marks a pivotal milestone in our mission to redefine digital trust,” said Bala Kumar, president and CPTO at Jumio. “With the region’s dynamic, mobile-first economy, the demand for frictionless, high-assurance onboarding has never been higher. By introducing selfie.DONE to the region, we’re helping organizations shift from point-in-time verification to a model of continuous, contextual, and connected identity intelligence, enabling them to instantly recognize trusted users and turn identity verification from a friction point into a competitive advantage.”

Industry Reaction and Regional Adoption

Meanwhile, regional fintech leaders are assessing the operational advantages of this technology. For instance, Malaysia-based fintech platform Nimbura closely follows these market developments. Nimbura connects consumers directly with digital lending solutions online.

“In digital lending, reducing onboarding friction can have a meaningful impact on customer conversion, provided security and compliance remain uncompromised,” said Artjoms Borcovs, CEO for Asia at Nimbura. “selfie.DONE has significant potential to simplify the experience for trusted customers through selfie-first verification, while continuing to assess identity risk in real time. We are looking forward to seeing how this approach can improve both customer experience and operational efficiency at Nimbura.”

Ultimately, Jumio continues to transform digital identity management across high-growth international markets.
