MoonPay, the market leader in global crypto payments, has announced native Ledger signer support for MoonPay Agents. It is the first CLI wallet that allows users to verify and sign each transaction using a Ledger secure signer. Private keys are kept inside the hardware and are not sent outside, providing maximum security for users’ operations. It addresses one of the major issues in autonomous AI trading: security.
Until now, AI agents had to have access to private keys, and users had to sacrifice their control over their assets. MoonPay Agents with Ledger support resolves this problem and allows users to have full trading capabilities with Ethereum, Solana, and many other chains. Every transaction is signed by the user using a Ledger device, keeping humans fully in the approval loop.
“Autonomous agents will manage trillions in digital assets,” said Ivan Soto-Wright, CEO and Founder of MoonPay. But autonomy without security is reckless. We built MoonPay Agents with Ledger so intelligence can scale without surrendering control. The agent executes. The human stays in the loop. The agent executes. The human stays in the loop.”
How MoonPay Agents Works with Ledger
Users can ask agents to rebalance multi-chain portfolios securely. The agent identifies opportunities, such as bridging USDC from Ethereum to Base, requesting user approval for all transactions. Private keys never leave the Ledger signer, and users approve every immutable transaction, removing risks of misuse.
Connect any Ledger device via USB, including Nano S Plus™, Nano X™, Gen5, Stax™, or Flex™, to MoonPay CLI. The agent detects wallets across networks, including Base, Solana, Arbitrum, Polygon, Optimism, BNB Chain, and Avalanche. Automatic Ledger app switching allows multi-chain operations in a single workflow. Swaps, bridges, and transfers route through the Ledger for approval.
“For years, Ledger integration has been a checkbox feature for wallets. There is a new wave of CLI and agent-centric wallets emerging, and these will need Ledger security as a feature, too. Congrats to MoonPay for being the first to leverage Ledger’s Device Management Kit and integrate Ledger into MoonPay Agents,” said Ian Rogers, Chief Experience Officer at Ledger.
