Virtus Launches Virtus InfraCap Preferred and Income Securities ETF

Virtus InfraCap

Investment giant Virtus Investment Partners expanded its specialized multi-manager platform today. Specifically, the company launched the Virtus InfraCap Preferred and Income Securities ETF on the NYSE Arca under the ticker VPFF. Infrastructure Capital Advisors serves as the official subadviser for this actively managed fund. Furthermore, this new offering marks the 27th fund within the growing Virtus ETF Solutions family.

The primary strategy behind Virtus InfraCap focuses on generating high yield through American preferred stocks. Therefore, the portfolio management team continuously reviews market trends and performs rigorous fundamental research. Consequently, this disciplined structure helps navigate volatile interest rate shifts and corporate call risks. Additionally, the fund addresses issuer concentration risks to safeguard overall investor capital.

“In the current market environment, investors are seeking high income with low volatility,” said Jay Hatfield, CEO and CIO of Infrastructure Capital. “VPFF seeks to offer investors the benefits of a high-yielding diversified basket of preferred stocks, with rigorous and active risk management.”

Moreover, Virtus InfraCap built this strategy to fulfill strong institutional demand for an unlevered income vehicle. Previously, investors relied heavily on the leveraged Virtus InfraCap U.S. Preferred Stock ETF (PFFA). However, market participants required a non-leveraged alternative with similar security selection standards.

“The launch of VPFF further strengthens Virtus’ position as a leading provider of preferreds strategies within the ETF market. Investor demand has been consistent for an unlevered version of the Virtus InfraCap U.S. Preferred Stock ETF (PFFA), one of the largest active preferred ETFs,” said William J. Smalley, executive managing director, Virtus ETF Solutions. “VPFF applies Infrastructure Capital’s active investment process and implementation techniques in a portfolio that is designed for investors seeking current income with an emphasis on disciplined security selection and risk management.”

Ultimately, Virtus InfraCap delivers robust tools for income-seeking portfolios. Financial advisors can easily incorporate VPFF into diversified fixed-income models. As interest rate fluctuations persist across global markets, Virtus InfraCap provides stability and disciplined risk management. Thus, the fund sets a strong benchmark for actively managed preferred ETF solutions.
