Trend Micro Declares Up to ¥10 Billion toward Cyber Resilience Initiative to Strengthen Security for Japanese Organizations in the AI Era

Trend Micro

Trend Micro officially announced its comprehensive Japan Cyber Resilience Initiative today. This national initiative seeks to improve cybersecurity measures for businesses in Japan, small companies, and people. The company will deal with the increasing digital threats and exposure risks in the era of artificial intelligence.

The cybersecurity issues in Japan are becoming very serious. According to research conducted by Trend Micro, threat actors have performed 607 publicly disclosed attacks in early 2026. Therefore, the attacks have already exceeded the total number of attacks observed in the whole of 2025. Personal data breaches have been posing a risk to enterprises, supply chain networks, and individual citizens.

To solve the increasing problem, Trend Micro suggests spending up to ¥10 billion on license credits. Organizations eligible for the credit can take advantage of the TrendAI Flex credits to use Vision One platform security. Additionally, organizations can access the latest AI security innovations without disrupting the current operational processes.

Expanding Technical Expertise and AI Protection Across Supply Chains

Beyond technology allocation, the company will mobilize forward-deployed engineers to assist local organizations. These technical specialists will evaluate security gaps and accelerate defensive deployments alongside channel partners. Initially, engineering resources will target national critical infrastructure and vital interconnected supply chain networks.

“Japan is our home. When the organizations and individuals that power our economy, our infrastructure and our communities face an escalating cybersecurity challenge, we have a responsibility to step forward.  No organization should have to face this challenge alone. We are bringing together our technology, our people and our global security expertise to help Japan strengthen its defenses today and prepare for a future in which cyber threats will move faster than ever.” said Eva Chen, Trend Micro CEO.

Moreover, participating organizations will receive managed detection and response capabilities to monitor continuous threats. Small and medium-sized businesses can also access a complimentary 60-day trial of Worry-Free Business Security Services.

Meanwhile, consumers receive 90 days of free access to the ScamCheck mobile protection app. Trend Micro will also collaborate with Asian messaging platforms like LINE to embed AI scam detection directly into customer interactions.
