Securonix Names Toby Weiss CEO to Drive the Next Phase of AI-Powered Security Operations

Securonix

Toby Weiss, the CEO of Securonix, has joined the company to spearhead the next step for the organization’s innovation and growth. It is at a time when organizations are looking for ways to enhance their security operations, threat detection capabilities, and operational efficiencies. Additionally, there are increasing cyber threats, compliance requirements, and talent shortage challenges facing security teams in regulated industries.

Leadership to Drive Securonix AI-Powered Security Operations

Weiss will steer Securonix towards enhancing its Unified Defense SIEM platform. This includes enhancing its advanced analytics, improving data management by way of DPM (Data Pipeline Manager) and growing its Agentic AI capabilities. Thus, enterprises and MDR providers can benefit by achieving better detection capabilities, cost optimizations, and SOC efficiencies. Furthermore, solutions such as Sam, the AI SOC Analyst, and Agentic Mesh will help automate investigations while maintaining governance and human oversight.

“Toby brings a powerful combination of cybersecurity expertise, enterprise software leadership, and operational excellence,” said Nadeem Syed, Executive Chairman of the Securonix Board and Senior Managing Director at Vista Equity Partners. “Security operations are at an inflection point as organizations move from alert-driven tools toward AI-powered execution. Toby has spent his career scaling businesses through pivotal technology transitions, and we are confident in his ability to lead Securonix forward.”

“Security operations are entering a new era where success will be measured not by how many alerts analysts review, but by how much security work organizations can execute,” said Weiss. “Our customers want three things: better security outcomes, greater operational efficiency, and the ability to scale without proportionally increasing costs. Securonix is uniquely positioned to deliver on those priorities. Our advanced analytics help organizations identify the threats that matter most. Our Data Pipeline Manager gives customers greater control over security data economics and visibility. Our Agentic AI innovations help automate and accelerate investigation and response workflows while maintaining governance and human oversight. Together, these capabilities enable organizations to operate more effectively today while preparing for the future of AI-powered security operations.”

“Customers are looking for measurable security outcomes despite growing operational complexity,” said Marion Smith, Chief Financial Officer at Securonix. “They want to improve analyst productivity, accelerate investigations, strengthen security posture, and maximize the value of their security investments. Toby understands how to connect innovation with customer success and business results. His leadership will help accelerate growth, deepen customer partnerships, and continue delivering the operational outcomes security teams need.”

Weiss brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in enterprise software and cybersecurity. Most recently, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Fiery. Earlier, he led Application Security, Inc. and held senior executive roles at CA Technologies. Securonix also outlined tangible platform advantages. Data Pipeline Manager cuts down on the cost of SIEM data by 30 to 50 percent. On the other hand, Agentic AI functionality speeds up investigations by 50 to 80 percent.
