Mimecast Launches Adaptive Human Risk Security for the AI Agent Era

Mimecast

Mimecast announced new platform capabilities designed for a rapidly evolving enterprise environment shaped by AI agents and automation. The company said businesses increasingly deploy AI agents and automated workflows, making the human layer the new control plane for security. According to Mimecast’s “The State of Human Risk 2026” report, organizations are embracing AI for cyber defense in a big way. However, 80% are concerned about the exposure of sensitive information by generative AI technology, while 60% do not have a strategy against AI-related cyber threats.

In addition, the number of active AI agents across the globe will grow exponentially due to the increased pace of digital transformation initiatives by organizations. The increasing adoption of AI technology is posing new risks in terms of data breaches, impersonation attacks, insider attacks, and policy drifts. Mimecast designed its latest platform upgrades to address these risks through adaptive controls and AI-powered investigation tools.

AI-Powered Investigation and Adaptive Security Controls

“Every AI agent, every automated workflow ultimately depends on a human to direct it, approve its actions, and govern its behavior,” said Ranjan Singh, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Mimecast. “That means the enterprise AI era will not be secured by isolated tools or static policies. It requires a connected platform that can understand behavior, detect risk, protect sensitive data, and adapt controls in real time. That is exactly where Mimecast is focused.”

Mimecast helps enterprises replace disconnected security tools with a unified platform that protects users across email, identity, collaboration, and generative AI. The platform introduces automated adaptive security policies that adjust controls according to user risk levels from the Human Risk Command Center. High-risk users are given tighter control immediately, whereas low-risk users remain productive without experiencing security interruptions.

Open Security Platform and Threat Protection

Mimecast Mihra Investigation Agent helps organizations speed up investigations through analysis, summarization of incidents, and suggestions of response actions for security teams. This Organisation also revamped its incident response model, enabling AI-powered campaign identification to resolve reported emails 78% faster.

Mimecast has also introduced Mihra MCP Gateway, which enables organizations to incorporate Mimecast’s investigation model with their existing AI platforms. Human Risk Command Center enables organizations to combine signals from email, identity, endpoint, data, and generative AI environments. In addition, Mimecast’s Multi-Vector Threat Protection provides organizations with 99.998% accuracy in detection, including complex attack campaigns with Mimecast’s global intelligence network.
