ISACA Unveils Advanced AI Risk Certification as AI Adoption Surges

AI risk certification

With the increased uptake of AI technology, the ISACA AI risk certification addresses the emerging risks facing enterprises today. Companies are using AI technology extensively. Nonetheless, these companies have to deal with emerging risks and vulnerabilities. In that regard, risk professionals will have to find the right balance between adopting and controlling AI risk. This problem has been solved by ISACA through the development of the Advanced in AI Risk (AAIR). The ISACA AI risk certification gives IT risk professionals competencies for governing and managing AI risk.

Moreover, the AAIR credential validates a candidate’s ability to evaluate AI vulnerabilities. It also measures their ability to assess business opportunities and risks. In addition, it prepares professionals to manage the entire AI risk lifecycle. The program focuses on three key areas. These include AI risk governance and framework integration. It also covers AI lifecycle risk management. Finally, it emphasizes AI risk program management. Furthermore, candidates learn to recommend effective AI risk responses. They also collaborate across departments to ensure strong oversight. As a result, professionals gain a deeper understanding of AI technologies and related risks.

“AI is moving faster than many organizations are prepared for, and IT risk professionals are on the front lines,” says Erik Prusch, ISACA CEO. “The launch of AAIR gives risk professionals the practical skills they need now to understand, assess and manage AI risk.”

Certification Requirements and Learning Resources

The ISACA AI risk certification strengthens existing risk management expertise. It enables professionals to address evolving AI challenges effectively. To qualify, candidates must demonstrate experience in IT risk or advisory roles. Additionally, they must hold one of 25 prerequisite certifications. These include CISA, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, CDPSE, CRMP, CRMA, CGRC, CISSP, CERP, or CRCM. After that, candidates must pass the certification exam. Moreover, ISACA provides several learning resources. These include the AAIR Online Review Course. It also offers a Questions, Answers & Explanations Database. Additionally, candidates can access the AAIR Review Manual in digital or print format.

Expanding AI Skills for the Digital Trust Workforce

At the same time, ISACA continues to expand its AI training portfolio. The organization aims to upskill digital trust professionals in an AI-driven world. Recently, ISACA introduced new AI courses and certifications. These include Advanced in AI Audit (AAIA). It also launched Advanced in AI Security Management (AAISM). Therefore, professionals can now build expertise across multiple AI domains.

“For decades, ISACA has set the standard for trusted leadership in credentialing and training to help digital trust professionals rise to the occasion amid technological changes,” says Shannon Donahue, ISACA Chief Content and Publishing Officer. “As continuous learning becomes even more vital with the rapid pace of change, our growing suite of AI-focused certifications and learning tools will equip our professional community to drive responsible innovation for their organizations.”
