Cohesity Joins Forces with Google Cloud to Eliminate Hidden Malware

Google Cloud

Cohesity Partners with Google Cloud to Bring Advanced Threat Protection Solutions through Cohesity Data Cloud. This partnership allows companies to add new features such as Google Private Scanning and also bring threat insights. Through this partnership, companies can now detect and destroy any dangerous malware without even letting a ransomware attack occur. This partnership now eliminates the blind spot with current backup security solutions. The software uses live intelligence to scan for threats present in any given backup sets. It also helps security professionals examine suspicious files safely and in isolation. This helps different organizations recover data with complete confidence using such a system and makes the process much easier. Cohesity makes the process of working between security and IT a significant improvement by uniting these solutions and different technologies.

“Undetected malware hidden in backup data can both reinfect restored systems. When properly scanned, reveal low-and-slow attacks that evade traditional detection,” said Vasu Murthy, Chief Product Officer, Cohesity. “By integrating Google Threat Intelligence, including Google Private Scanning, directly into the interface of Cohesity Data Cloud. We’re giving customers exceptional visibility and context into potential threats. Powerful new ways to assess and eliminate risk without fragmenting workflows or introducing operational complexity.”

Secure Sandbox Analysis Enhances Cyber Recovery

The latest addition is “secure sandbox analysis” that, through Google Private Scanning, enables the safe detonation of malware. This helps in analyzing the behavior of payload, network traffic, and registry changes without compromising the primary environment. More so, it pushes frontline security expertise from Google to the recovery layer. Thus, it helps users make better decisions using secure behavioral analysis. All these features are now live on Cohesity Data Cloud. This partnership, in essence, changes the way enterprises can protect and secure their most critical assets.

“At Google Cloud, we understand firsthand how attackers hide malicious payloads. In places traditional security tools never look, including backups,” said Miton Adhikari, Head of Security OEM Partnerships. “By embedding Google Threat Intelligence and private sandboxing directly into Cohesity’s cyber resilience platform. Organizations can detect what others miss and recover with greater speed and confidence.”
