Cherokee Federal has officially achieved its Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 C3PAO certification. This accomplishment verifies that the company complies with 110 rigorous security controls. These controls align with the NIST SP 800-171 standard through assessment by an authorized Certified Third-Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO).
Validating Advanced Security for Federal Missions
This certification is now recorded in the Supplier Performance Risk System (SPRS). It is valid for three years. The milestone establishes Cherokee Federal as an elite contractor prepared to handle changing government cybersecurity mandates. It also improves the company’s ability to compete for future defense projects.
“Earning CMMC Level 2 C3PAO is a defining milestone for Cherokee Federal,” said Clint Bickett, President of Cherokee Federal. “Our customers depend on us to safeguard critical information while delivering mission-focused solutions at speed and scale. This certification demonstrates that we are prepared for where the market is going and committed to meeting the highest standards of cybersecurity, performance, and trust.”
The U.S. Department of War (DOW) will mandate this certification starting in November 2026 for contracts involving Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Cherokee Federal can now fully support clients that need these high-level security standards.
The CMMC program works to protect Federal Contract Information (FCI) and CUI against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. This achievement reinforces the firm’s reputation as a secure, low-risk partner for complex defense and intelligence missions. Cherokee Federal remains dedicated to delivering resilient capabilities to ensure mission success while protecting information entrusted to it by government partners.
