Avaya Government Cloud Adds Security and Stability for Agencies
Several platform features sit behind the certification. Enhanced security comes through a dedicated single-tenant environment built for government workloads. Oversight comes from a Security Operations Center staffed by U.S. citizens, helping agencies manage sensitive communications with stronger protections in place.
High availability was another focus. Geo-redundancy and local survivability help reduce disruption if an outage or technical issue affects operations. Rather than forcing agencies into a full replacement cycle, the platform supports a flexible hybrid cloud setup. Existing systems can stay in place while organizations move toward newer capabilities when ready. That flexibility may also support future AI-driven improvements.
Simplified contracting received attention as well. Avaya introduced what it calls a “one contract, zero overlap” model to make transitions less difficult. Agencies moving to cloud environments may find planning and procurement easier to manage through a simpler structure. In practical terms, that can make government cloud security feel less complicated during modernization work.
“Recognized as the gold standard for protective sensitive government data, IL4 H certification underscores our unwavering dedication to meeting the government’s stringent requirements, while providing secure, reliable, and flexible solutions,” said Jerry Dotson, Vice President, Avaya Government Solutions. “We understand the critical nature of government operations and the importance of mission assurance.”
The certification builds on other secure communications work from Avaya, including JITC and FedRAMP Moderate certified offerings.
“Avaya’s Department of War Impact Level 4 High certification for its Government Cloud solution marks an important step in our continued work with Avaya to modernize our government customers’ networks and support greater efficiency, security and reliability for their missions,” said Tang Pham, Vice President of Federal National Security Group, AT&T Business.
