Powerfleet Unveils AI-Powered SafeGuard to Help Australian Operators Predict and Prevent Driver Risk

SafeGuard

Powerfleet recently announced the Australian launch of SafeGuard. This new software advances AIoT mobile asset management solutions for local fleet operators. Furthermore, the AI-powered risk intelligence tool helps operators identify dangerous driving behaviors. It also prioritizes and addresses these high-risk on-road actions in real time. Currently, the software is available as an add-on to the Powerfleet VisionAI video solution. In addition, it integrates fully within the Unity platform. SafeGuard uses artificial intelligence to continuously assess driver risk across a fleet. Consequently, this helps safety teams focus on events most likely to lead to accidents.

Meanwhile, Australian operators face increasing pressure to strengthen safety performance. They must also demonstrate proactive risk management. This pressure comes about due to changes in Work Health and Safety (WHS) and Chain of Responsibility requirements.

Moving From Reactive to Proactive Safety

“Operators have access to more safety data than ever before, but knowing where to focus remains a significant challenge,” said Brodie von Berg, Managing Director, Powerfleet APAC.

“SafeGuard helps safety teams augment AI video safety by identifying the highest-risk drivers and behaviours in real time, enabling earlier intervention, more effective coaching and ultimately safer outcomes across the fleet.”

Additionally, SafeGuard is built into the Unity system. This application has succeeded in effectively integrating real-time risk management with AI-driven driver risk assessment. Also included is intelligent video event review and live intervention features. For this reason, it provides safety managers with better insight and control over fleet risks.

Finally, the operators of SafeGuard have had very positive experiences. This was demonstrated by an 83% reduction in road risk. Equally, they recorded a 95% decline in false positive video event notifications. Lastly, they enjoyed an 80% decline in video review times.
