Smartsheet Introduces New AI Agents, Integrations, and Security Advancements at ENGAGE 2026

Smartsheet

Smartsheet recently introduced major platform capabilities during its annual customer conference, ENGAGE 2026. The company introduced AI agents that are innovative, intelligent workflows, and security controls. All of these are intended to address the problem of execution drift in contemporary organizations. This will enable organizations to effectively close the gap between plans and deliverables.

Tackling Enterprise Execution Drift with Workflow Intelligence

Modern teams move fast, yet disconnected tools often widen execution drift. Smartsheet leverages twenty years of workflow intelligence to solve this exact problem. Furthermore, scattered data prevents leaders from seeing a complete operational picture. Therefore, the platform now deploys autonomous AI agents to handle routine status updates.

“Most organizations have AI in one place, their data in another and governance as an afterthought. Teams still spend hours on status reports and follow-ups, and IT struggles to see what AI is doing with company data,” said Pratima Arora, chief product and technology officer at Smartsheet. “Today we’re putting AI agents on that routine work, connecting data across the tools teams already use, and adding the security and governance controls that keep every AI action inside the rules you set.”

“Enterprises are discovering that the hard part of AI is not productivity gains; it is keeping work aligned with their plans,” according to Wayne Kurtzman, research vice president at IDC. “As agents, systems, integrations, and partners multiply, teams need AI to draw on real data, content and context across the tools they already use, under the governance they’ve already set. Smartsheet is addressing this challenge directly, helping organizations move AI from experimentation to dependable, strategic work.”

New Agentic Workflows and Specialized Assistants

Employees spend countless hours on manual project setup and data checks. To combat this inefficiency, Smartsheet introduced specialized Agentic Workflows. These tools transform simple plain-language requests into automated recurring tasks. Thus, teams catch emerging project roadblocks before they cause major delays.

The platform includes two powerful assistants available today:

  • Creation Agent: This tool builds fully functional projects from text prompts in minutes.
  • Data Quality Agent: This assistant reviews active sheets and flags critical errors instantly.

Streamlining Enterprise Integrations and Data Sync

Silos of data have long been a problem for many organizations. Before, creating connections between different software would take several weeks of complicated and custom software engineering. Smartsheet now offers native integrations that allow connectivity to happen through simple conversational requests.

Smartsheet processes more than billions of work data rows monthly. This includes native integration support for ServiceNow, Microsoft Dynamics 365, HubSpot, and Workday. Additionally, there is the Integration Agent, which brings in data from GitHub, Zendesk, Airtable, and Monday.com to Smartsheet.

Enhancing Security and Governance for Enterprise AI

With the pace of automation quickening, it is crucial for IT managers to have strong controls around visibility and governance. In many organizations, there is a lack of guardrails on technologies that are coming up. This is evident from recent industry research where 68% of organizations that were attacked lacked proper AI governance solutions. To address the challenge, Smartsheet made important announcements in security.

The software has gotten ISO/IEC 42001 certification for responsible AI governance. Additionally, an independent assessment has been carried out for IRAP evaluation of security requirements in the public sector. Security Event Streaming provides real-time audit log data to tools such as Splunk. Lastly, Data Classification enables users to set custom sensitivity labels on all workspaces.
