Citrix, a Cloud Software Group company, has launched Citrix UniconOS dual boot. The new endpoint resiliency feature helps enterprises restore work access within minutes, without spare hardware, reimaging, or extended downtime.
Citrix UniconOS Release 7 2607 introduces a Dual Boot feature that turns compatible Windows endpoints into isolated recovery devices. So it creates a hardened environment next to Windows to reconnect users through Citrix DaaS and Citrix Secure Access with Chrome Enterprise.
Common causes of major enterprise disruptions include ransomware attacks, failed patches, system corruption, and misconfigurations. Financial services, healthcare, and critical infrastructure outages impact core workflows, putting revenue at risk. And, of course, downtime makes it more difficult to meet standards such as DORA, HIPAA, and PCI DSS.
Classical recovery models rely heavily on manual re-imaging workflows, central services, or standby hardware pools. When large endpoint fleets go dark, IT teams face labor-intensive recovery work while employees wait idle.
The innovative Dual Boot design breaks this paradigm by delivering recovery tools directly on the endpoint. It stores a second hardened operating system on the physical disk within a separate isolated partition.
