Snowflake Advances Trusted AI with Horizon Catalog for Enterprise Governance and Security

trusted AI

Trusted AI governance advanced during Snowflake Summit 26 as Snowflake expanded Snowflake Horizon Catalog with stronger business context, AI governance, and enterprise security controls. The company introduced updates designed for the agentic era, helping every person, tool, and AI agent work from a shared understanding of trusted business information.

Snowflake said fragmented business logic across SQL systems, BI dashboards, and AI agents often causes inconsistent insights and unreliable decisions. Therefore, Horizon Context now connects business context across an organization’s complete data estate, including databases, data lakes, and BI tools. This approach helps every team, application, and AI agent operate from the same trusted business definition. BlackRock is already using Horizon Context to help AI systems work through a shared definition of enterprise truth.

Snowflake Strengthens Trusted AI Governance for Enterprise Systems

Snowflake introduced new enhancements across Snowflake Horizon Catalog built for the agentic era. To ensure every person, tool, and AI agent works from the same trusted business context. Through richer semantic views, built-in governance, and stronger security controls. Horizon Context helps organizations create a shared definition of enterprise truth. Customers, including BlackRock, are already using Horizon Context to help AI systems operate from a trusted and consistent business foundation.

The company also expanded proactive built-in security for AI to strengthen governance, visibility, and enterprise control. Acxiom, NewDay, and Thomson Reuters are working with Snowflake. To explore how these new AI security capabilities can improve governance, security, and operational control across enterprise AI and agentic systems.

Snowflake also introduced a simpler way to scale AI systems through Adaptive Compute. Working alongside Snowflake Horizon Catalog, enterprises can now scale AI applications and agents with stronger performance and greater operational simplicity while reducing infrastructure complexity.

To improve AI reliability, Snowflake said Horizon Context helps organizations collect trusted business context by bringing together fragmented business logic often spread across SQL systems, BI dashboards, and AI agents. Horizon Context connects business information across databases, data lakes, and BI tools. So every team, application, and AI agent works from the same trusted context. This allows organizations to locate, organize, and trust business data more effectively.

Snowflake also introduced ways to automatically maintain business context over time. Horizon Context gives analysts a richer and connected view of how data is governed, trusted, updated, and used. Semantic Studio helps teams define shared business logic without SQL expertise, while Semantic View Autopilot automatically creates. Also refines semantic views to maintain trusted context as data evolves. In addition, semantic views and data agents can be created for datasets shared through Snowflake Marketplace, extending trusted business context into AI and analytics workflows. Teams can also ask business questions through Snowflake CoCo and receive governed responses, even when information exists outside Snowflake systems.

The company is also extending trusted business context across broader enterprise ecosystems to improve AI and analytics reliability. Horizon Context enables CoCo to provide more trustworthy responses through rich enterprise knowledge. Snowflake is also expanding governed business definitions to external AI agents and major BI tools. Built on Snowflake’s open approach, Horizon Context supports Open Semantic Interchange (OSI), helping organizations share trusted business definitions without vendor lock-in.

“When intelligence becomes autonomous, trust is no longer an afterthought; it becomes foundational,” said Christian Kleinerman, EVP of Product, Snowflake. “Organizations need AI that operates from trusted business context with governance and security built in from the start. New advancements across Snowflake Horizon Catalog give every agent, app, and team the trusted context and security controls needed to move AI from experimentation into real-world business operations.”
