OPSWAT and Emerson announced a new global strategic reseller agreement today. This partnership aims to strengthen Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity for global power and water industries. Consequently, Emerson will integrate OPSWAT’s scalable operational technology (OT) patch management capabilities. These features will join the Ovation™ Automation Platform directly. This agreement represents the first major initiative of their enterprise-wide collaboration. Furthermore, the partnership protects essential real-time industrial systems.
The new solution builds upon the current collaboration between both global leaders. It secures the Ovation Platform using OPSWAT’s MetaDefender Endpoint™ and My OPSWAT™ Central Management. These tools belong to Emerson’s specialized power and water cybersecurity suite. Previously, both companies worked on MetaDefender Kiosk™ and MetaDefender Unidirectional Security Gateway™ solutions. Additionally, this move expands the well-established DeltaV™ Alliance agreement.
“Our customers need cybersecurity solutions designed specifically for operational technology-not adapted from IT,” said Robert Yeager, President of Emerson’s power and water solutions business. “They benefit from purpose-built OT cybersecurity solutions that protect critical, real-time industrial systems while supporting availability, performance, and safe operations. Collaborating with OPSWAT enhances our ability to help operators protect their Ovation Automation Platform with a modern, OT appropriate approach to patch management. It reflects our commitment to delivering proven, efficient, best-in-class protection for critical infrastructure.”
Critical infrastructure operators currently face significant operational risks and cyber threats. Power generation and water utilities struggle with unpatched vulnerabilities and regulatory pressure. Therefore, OPSWAT provides a modernized patch management approach for industrial environments. This solution addresses challenges from both legacy and modern tools. Likewise, it tackles the surge of ransomware activity targeting the energy sector. Maintaining elite Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity remains a top corporate priority.
Fortifying Modern Systems Against Emerging Threats
“As LLMs, automation, and digital transformation accelerate across power and water infrastructure, the attack surface expands just as quickly,” said Benny Czarny, Founder and CEO of OPSWAT. “In environments where safety and availability are mission critical, cybersecurity cannot rely on traditional IT assumptions but must be deterministic, scalable, and engineered specifically for OT realities. Partnering with Emerson allows us to embed that prevention-first philosophy directly into one of the world’s most trusted automation platforms. This is not simply about patching vulnerabilities. It is about fortifying the resilience and continuity of the essential systems that power modern society.”
Emerson currently offers the Ovation Automation Platform at over 800 global sites. These locations use cybersecurity technologies specifically designed for critical industries. Likewise, the partnership underscores Emerson’s strategy to collaborate with proven providers. Consequently, companies must respond continuously to new vulnerabilities. Reliable Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity ensures the continuity of modern society.
