SecurityScorecard, a global leader in third-party risk management, has appointed Larry Hogan to its Advisory Board. This move reinforces SecurityScorecard’s leadership in third-party risk management across the public sector. Moreover, it strengthens third-party risk management efforts for critical infrastructure organizations.
Based in New York, SecurityScorecard continues to expand its third-party risk management capabilities. With this appointment, the company deepens its engagement with government cybersecurity programs. As a result, public agencies gain stronger protection against vendor-related cyber threats.
Hogan’s Cybersecurity Leadership and Statewide Strategy
During his two terms as governor of Maryland, Hogan prioritized cybersecurity modernization. He created Maryland’s first State Chief Information Security Officer role. In addition, he convened the Annapolis Cybersecurity Summit with federal and private sector leaders. Furthermore, he launched the Maryland Information Sharing and Analysis Center to enhance threat intelligence collaboration.
Through this coordinated strategy, Hogan positioned Maryland as a national cybersecurity leader. His whole-of-state framework improved cyber defense across agencies. Consequently, Maryland strengthened its cyber resilience and public sector security posture.
“Government leaders can’t afford blind spots when it comes to cyber risk,” said Hogan. “Protecting critical services requires real-time visibility across agencies and the extended vendor ecosystem. SecurityScorecard helps deliver that clarity, and I look forward to helping more public sector organizations strengthen their resilience before threats disrupt essential operations.”
Advancing Public Sector Cybersecurity and Risk Monitoring
His leadership experience aligns directly with SecurityScorecard’s mission. The company enables continuous, threat-informed third-party risk management. Instead of relying solely on compliance, agencies can monitor vendor ecosystems in real time. Therefore, governments can proactively address cyber risks before incidents occur.
“When one in three breaches starts with a vendor, third-party risk becomes mission critical, not just a compliance checkbox,” said Dr. Aleksandr Yampolskiy, CEO and Co-Founder of SecurityScorecard. “We’re thrilled to welcome Governor Hogan to our Advisory Board. His experience aligning policy, operations and accountability across government will help agencies proactively reduce risk across the vendor ecosystems they depend on.”
Strengthening National Cybersecurity Resilience
SecurityScorecard continues to advance cybersecurity risk management for government agencies. Notably, third-party cyber risk has emerged as a top national security concern. Therefore, organizations increasingly demand continuous monitoring and cyber risk ratings.
“Governor Hogan has proven how effective coordination and accountability can transform cybersecurity outcomes across government,” said Michael Centrella, Head of Public Policy at SecurityScorecard. “His leadership and policy insight will accelerate adoption of continuous third-party risk monitoring and give governments the visibility they need to protect critical services and infrastructure.”
With Hogan’s guidance, SecurityScorecard aims to expand public sector cybersecurity adoption. In turn, agencies can strengthen vendor risk management frameworks. Ultimately, this collaboration enhances cyber resilience, protects critical services and secures essential infrastructure nationwide.
