CrowdStrike Acquires SGNL to Expand Identity Security for the AI Era

SGNL

CrowdStrike announced the acquisition of SGNL in a bid to fast-track its identity security vision for the AI age. The company intends to incorporate SGNL’s authorization technology into its Falcon offering. This is a major addition for CrowdStrike in its identity security business. Identity security has become a key component of cyber protection in the modern era. This purchase helps CrowdStrike thwart breaches with broad protection.

George Kurtz, CEO and founder of CrowdStrike, said: “AI agents operate with superhuman speed and access. Making every agent a privileged identity that must be protected. With SGNL, CrowdStrike will deliver continuous, real-time access control that eliminates the known and unknown gaps from legacy standing privileges. We’re disrupting the premise of modern privilege and access for every identity. Human or machine. This is identity security built for the AI era.”

Scott Kriz, CEO and co-founder of SGNL, said: “SGNL was founded to connect access decisions with business reality. The world needs our technology to eradicate the significant risk that legacy standing privileges expose in today’s and tomorrow’s environments. Joining CrowdStrike provides us with global scale natively through cybersecurity’s leading platform to transform enterprise security with Continuous Identity. Furthering CrowdStrike’s mission of stopping breaches.”

Interestingly, CrowdStrike pointed out that the attacker is increasingly leveraging the weaknesses in identity. Hence, the need for the solution is to fill that gap by using advanced AI control systems. Together, the solution will improve real-time decision-making while also imposing dynamic access policies. In this way, organizations will have improved identity security for high-risk apps. In fact, CrowdStrike has confirmed that the solution will facilitate the implementation of a Zero Trust model. In turn, the company anticipates quick threat response and improved visibility across platforms.
